Bono, The Edge and Spider-Man's Reeve Carney Set to Appear on American Idol Finale

American Idol hopefuls are about to meet an American superhero. U2's Bono and The Edge will appear alongside Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark's Reeve Carney and other cast members from the musical on the May 25 finale of American Idol's tenth season, according to the band's website. The performance marks the first television appearance for the production since resuming performances on May 12.

Featuring music by Bono and The Edge, as well as a revised book by Glen Berger and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Spider-Man is currently in previews at the Foxwoods Theatre. Under the new direction of Phillip William McKinley (who took over from original director and co-book writer Julie Taymor), the show is set to officially open on June 14.

Spider-Man stars Carney as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Jennifer Damiano as Mary Jane Watson, Patrick Page as Norman Oswald/Green Goblin, T.V. Carpio as Arachne, Isabel Keating as Aunt May and Michael Mulheren as J. Jonah Jameson.
